Lyra (Aerial Hoop) Lyra is the beautiful acrobatic art-form performed on aerial hoops. It builds up a lot of strength while you also have a lot of fun. Lots of pole students find that Lyra becomes their new love and vice versa, as both of these apparatus compliments the other and help the student achieve goals in both. We have 3 different levels to choose from, pick whichever suits your abilities. Pose it out for those pretty photos! Don’t forget your leggings.
Work towards your flexibility goals for the new year. You will be working on active flexibility, learn everything from basic stretching through to contortion! improve flexibility, work on technique & problem solve those ‘stuck points’.
Hair flicks, heel slams, stripper kicks and booty rolls, yes please! A whole hour of everyone’s favourite dirty dancing!
If you’ve never done pole before or are in level 1 this is for you! We’ll take you through a selection of tricks from our Level 1 course curriculum. Learn how to put your new pole tricks into some basic choreography and linking moves for a great cardio workout! We guarantee there will be lots of fun and laughs in a supportive environment.
Hella Heels Heads, shoulders, heels and toes! Head rolls, shoulder rolls, sexy heels and for the love of pole, point your toes!
Urban Pole is a style of pole dancing incorporating hip-hop elements with the pole, mainly to hip-hop/RnB music. Prep yourself to get sweaty while looking cool. It’s gonna get funky, bring your hood attitude and kneepads!
Mega Pole Sculpt
Hello 2019! Welcome the new year in by working hard in Nomes’ specialty super sweaty, jelly arms and baby giraffe-legs mega sculpt sesh! A whole 75 minutes of sculpt…sorry in advance if you have a manual car!!
Men’s Pole Tricks
Men doing manly things! We have plenty of co-ed options at The Pole Gym, but just like gymnastics, there are some differences between men’s and women’s pole and this workshop is all about the guys! Tricks only workshop – climbs, lifts, flag holds – no dancing involved!
Acro & Handstands
Work on handstands & cool solo and pair/group acro poses. Work on handstand strength and techniques for stronger upsidedownness! Make new friends and shaped with fun acro moves.
Advanced Tricks (Grads)
OMG you want me to do what now?! Challenge yourself with some new advanced moves – flips and holds, invert combos, and everyone’s favourites brass monkeys and shouldermounts!
Ever wondered how pole dancers make their floorwork and linking moves look so easy and fluid? It’s harder than it looks! Come and learn for yourself – you’ll learn some key floor moves and transitions around the base of the pole – and you’ll get a great workout while you’re there! Be sure to wear knee pads, leg warmers or long pants to this class.
Struggling with your inverts or just wanting to learn some different techniques on how to better your inverting skills? Or maybe aerial inverts are a nemesis trick for you! This workshop is for you! Work on conditioning and different techniques to strengthen your inverts. Let’s play upside down!
“The Other Side”
We ALL know that every single one of us has a dominant “side” when it comes to executing pole moves – it’s why the tricks are always easier and look better! But what about our “other side”? We all say we’re going to train both sides but we rarely do! Come and play with us and work on everyone’s “favourite” side…fight the awkward feeling and the pain!
Contemporary Pole Dance
There are so many different styles of dance that you can combine with pole dancing. One of them is contemporary. Slow and beautiful, this style will surprise you with how elegant and graceful you can be on and off the pole.
