Testimonials
A fun, safe and supportive environment for both women and men for pole fitness. Knowledgeable trainers and great atmosphere. Excellent for general fitness and health, in particular improving stamina, strength and flexibility. After two years here I enjoy all on offer even more than when I first started.
This place is amazing! Everyone is super nice, encouraging and supportive and it honestly feels like a family. I’ve made so many friends since starting in August 2016. I love that you don’t need dance experience and it is suitable for all fitness levels. It’s a really fun way to build fitness and strength. I definitely recommend giving it a go!
I started Pole Dancing in October 2015 mainly because i wanted an incentive to lose weight and did not want to go to the standard Gyms. I also did not have a lot of experience with dancing and fitness exercises. Some 19 months after, I have gained great fitness and also wonderful friends! The instructors are amazingly supportive. It’s a great way to gain muscle strength in a fun atmosphere! Try it!
I got inspired to try pole after seeing a show in New York. I started at The Pole Gym about 6 months ago and have loved working through the levels classes and trying different styles through casual classes. The instructors are really knowledgeable about the tricks, but also about safety and injury prevention. I love coming here after a busy day at work to relax, get fit and challenge myself.
I decided to try pole about three months ago to spice up my fitness and try to bring back a dancing aspect into my life again. I have now just finished Level 3 and moving to Level 4 and absolutely love it! I look forward to coming to class and coming to the gym to practice (even on weekends). Everyone is super supportive and I can’t wait to continue my pole journey. Would highly recommend!
“They have a bright, clean studio and a simply wonderful beginners level 1 pole course! For someone with absolutely no pole experience, it was the perfect introduction to my new obsession. Every staff member is so friendly and approachable, and they immediately make you feel so comfortable and at ease. The course itself was taught very clearly, and you could use the studio at other times to practice and try other styles too! 10/10”

Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need any experience to join classes at The Pole Gym?
You do not need any previous experience to join classes at The Pole Gym. The studio offers beginner courses designed for absolute beginners with no prior dance, fitness or pole experience required. The environment is supportive with classes structured so you can build strength, coordination and confidence at your own pace.
What should I wear to class?
Wear comfortable activewear that allows movement and skin contact with the apparatus. For pole classes this typically means shorts and a fitted top so you can grip the pole with your skin. Avoid lotions or oils before class as they make gripping difficult. Trainers, water and a towel are advisable to bring if you expect to sweat. (General guidance based on pole class norms; not all details are specifically listed on The Pole Gym site)
Are classes suitable for all fitness levels?
Yes. The Pole Gym offers classes for all fitness levels including complete beginners and more advanced students. Classes are progressive and designed to help you improve strength, flexibility and technique over time. The supportive environment encourages participation regardless of prior fitness background.
Can I book a private lesson?
Yes. The Pole Gym offers private lessons. These can be booked as one-on-one sessions for personalised coaching in either pole or aerial skills. Private lessons provide tailored instruction to your goals and skill development.
What’s the difference between pole and aerial courses?
Pole courses focus on pole fitness and dance using the vertical pole apparatus, where you learn climbs, spins, floorwork and choreography on the pole. Aerial courses use different apparatus such as aerial hoop (lyra) or silks suspended from the ceiling to perform aerial acrobatic movements. The physical demands and techniques vary by apparatus, with aerial classes focusing more on aerial strength, flexibility, wraps and suspended movement compared to floor-to-pole transitions.
Do you offer trial classes?
Yes. The Pole Gym offers trial classes for new students. Trial options include special introductory pole classes so you can experience a session before committing to a full course. These are suitable for complete beginners and give a good introduction to what the studio offers.
